Police in Odesa say a man shot and wounded four members of a district military recruiting and social‑support centre on 2 August. The attack happened on Kosmonavtiv Street while the team was conducting a public‑alert round.
The emergency call came in around 19:30, according to the regional police press office. Officers stated that the attacker fired several shots from a pistol at the personnel.
One of the wounded service members was taken to hospital with a serious back wound. The other three later sought medical help on their own, the Glavcom news outlet reported, citing regional police and the local recruiting centre.
Police later detained a 32‑year‑old man suspected in the shooting. According to the DSnews.ua report, which also cites the police press service, the suspect used a Flobert‑calibre pistol.
The suspect was arrested under Article 208 of Ukraine's Criminal Procedure Code. Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 114‑1, which deals with obstructing the lawful activity of the armed forces. The weapon is to be sent for expert examination.
