Drone strikes kill at least five in Russia and Ukraine

Ukrainian drone attacks killed five people and wounded ten in the Moscow region on Tuesday morning, according to the region's governor Andrei Vorobyov. Most of the damage hit the Chekhov municipal district, where fires broke out at an industrial zone.

In Russia's Krasnodar region, authorities updated the toll from a drone strike on the Black Sea resort of Arkhipo-Osipovka to seven dead, including three children, and 58 wounded, with 21 hospitalized. Footage showed a drone hitting a crowded beach. Ukraine has not commented on that strike.

Meanwhile, Russian attacks across Ukraine killed at least five civilians. In the Sumy region, glide bombs killed three people, including two young girls and an elderly woman, said regional military administration head Oleh Hryhorov. In Mykolaiv, a strike killed an 89-year-old woman and wounded seven others aged two to 83.

Russian strikes also hit the Odesa region, destroying a home and wounding two, according to regional head Oleh Kiper. In Kharkiv region, one person died and seven were wounded in strikes on multiple towns, including an eight-year-old child. Glide bombs hit central Kramatorsk in Donetsk region, injuring four, said regional head Vadym Filashkin.

Russia's defense ministry said it shot down 320 Ukrainian drones overnight and struck Ukrainian ports and ships it said carried military cargo. Turkey urged both sides to ensure safe Black Sea navigation after two Turkish-owned ships were attacked.
