Five people were killed and ten wounded when Ukrainian drones struck an industrial area in the Chekhov district of the Moscow region overnight, regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said on Telegram.
Vorobyov reported fires in the Novoselki industrial zone, with damage to an administrative building and electrical substation. In the village of Solnyshkovo, a home and a vehicle were also hit, he noted.
Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that at least 320 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight across multiple regions, including Moscow and Leningrad. Leningrad governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said 17 drones were downed over his region, damaging a warehouse area in Krasny Bor, where a Wildberries logistics facility caught fire. Another Wildberries warehouse was targeted in the Tver region, according to governor Vitaly Korolev.
The drone campaign extended to a beach in southern Russia, where seven people were killed in Krasnodar on Monday. Krasnodar governor Veniamin Kondratyev accused Ukraine of targeting civilians, while a Ukrainian counter-disinformation official blamed Russian air defenses for the beach deaths.
In response to the overnight Russian attacks, Ukraine’s air force reported launching 136 drones and one ballistic missile, with 117 drones intercepted. Strikes on Mykolaiv killed one woman; attacks on Sumy killed three, including two children and an elderly woman, according to regional officials.
