At least five people were killed and ten injured when Ukrainian drones struck an industrial zone in the Moscow region’s Chekhov district overnight Tuesday, regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said on Telegram.
Vorobyov added that fires broke out at the industrial site, with damage to an administrative building and an electrical substation. He also reported a damaged home and vehicle in the village of Solnyshkovo.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said it shot down at least 320 Ukrainian drones overnight, including over Moscow and Leningrad regions. Leningrad governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that 17 drones were downed over his region, with damage to a warehouse in Krasny Bor belonging to online retailer Wildberries.
Tver governor Vitaly Korolev also reported a Wildberries facility hit in his region. According to ABC News, Kyiv has described Wildberries as facilitating the sale of military equipment to Russian soldiers.
The fatalities came a day after a drone explosion killed seven on a beach in southern Russia. Ukraine’s air force reported that Russia launched 136 drones and one ballistic missile overnight, causing deaths and injuries in Mykolaiv and Sumy.
