Five people were killed in a Russian artillery attack on a rural area in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, the regional prosecutor's office said on Monday.
According to abc.com.py, the attack took place on August 10 in the village of Buhaivka, in the Chuhuiv district. A statement on Telegram said the strike destroyed homes and killed five people.
The Chuhuiv district prosecutor's office has launched a preliminary war crimes investigation under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine's criminal code.
In the past 24 hours, Russia carried out several attacks on Kharkiv that wounded numerous people, according to regional military administration head Oleh Syniehubov, as cited by abc.com.py.
The Russian forces attacked the Kharkiv region with two missiles, two guided aerial bombs, six Molniya-type UAVs, four FPV drones, and 67 other UAVs whose types are still being identified, abc.com.py reported.
Also over the weekend, at least three people died in a bombing of a residential building in the region, abc.com.py said.
